Do I need to bring my own sewing machine to a course?
Do I need to bring my sewing machine to a course?
No, use mine! They’re really good for beginners and my projects are designed with them in mind.
The purpose of my beginner’s class, Not Sew Scary, is to develop a love of sewing and establish good habits that can be used in all your future sewing. Having the right tool for this is essential.
I have six new Brother electronic sewing machines supplied by Echidna Sewing.
These are great machines to learn to sew and will continue to work well for everyone as their skills and projects increase over time. I have taught hundreds of people, from 4 year olds to 84 year olds, how to complete basic sewing tasks using these machines and they receive rave reviews all the time!
They have automatic back tack and needle positioning which allows you to concentrate on your project and the joy of sewing. There are 50 different stitches to choose from, some for a specific purpose and some for decoration. I have a range of feet to suit the various stitches which will make your sewing even better.
If you become hooked and would like to buy a machine of your own I have a voucher code for Echidna Sewing that will get you a bonus gift with a machine purchase.
If you have a machine that you need to become comfortable with I offer ‘Learn Your Machine’ as part of my Community Sewing Room. In this session I will show you how to set up your machine, wind a bobbin and thread it correctly, noting some common mistakes, and help you to become familiar with the various stitches and features so you can get sewing. You are then welcome to stay for a half day of Community Sewing, doing your own project or one of mine.
I love teaching people to sew and my equipment is selected to make it easy and enjoyable for you to love sewing!
Let’s get stitching!
