Can you alter my jeans?
Jeans are fun! They are quite fashionable at the moment and come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and styles. And they vary greatly in price and quality.
I understand that you LOVE your jeans but…
So I have developed many techniques for altering jeans to get the best results while maintaining the look that you love.
Check out this “fix” done by someone else, below. The customer wanted their jeans waistband made bigger, so the previous tailor inserted this weird v-shape amendment….
The after photo shows the waistband having been extended and beautifully tailored by me, for a seamless (albeit with seams) look.
So what else can I do to alter your jeans?
I can make them shorter (that’s easy) and I can keep the worn hem if you’d like.
I can make the legs a bit slimmer or I can add wedges for a boot cut or flared look.
I can make the waist slimmer without altering the hips. This can remove the waist gap much better than a shoelace!
I can replace zippers or buttons or move them to give you a little waist adjustment.
I can patch holes and tears, including reinforcing and patching to prevent further damage.
And yes, I can make the waist bigger! There is a limit to this but If your favourite jeans are a little too snug then bring them in and I will work my magic.
I cannot, however, bring your favourite jeans back to life. Once they are stretched, warped and worn out completely then it might be time to say goodbye and begin the search for your next favourite pair.
If you’d like the best pair of jeans you’ll ever own then I recommend contacting Leigh at Everwear Denim in Dromana. He is a Saville Row tailor now making custom jeans in our local area. He uses Japanese selvedge denim and will create the best pair of jeans you’ll ever wear.
Bring your jeans and your dreams, I reckon I can get them to match!
